2nd Video up at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=swUJutnLv7U

Above is a photo from 1930's that show the property being used to grow Pineapples.

I love this pic!

Brook Haven was established by Harry Brooks as a result of a Land Grant for his services in World War One. The property has stayed in the Brook family up till recently, when they passed it over to me.

The cottage (above) was built in 1923 by Harry Brook, and remains solid and usable. Current tenants are very happy to stay on.

The grounds were used for "Peggy's Garden Party" which was a charity even Peggy ran that was one of the main social events on the Lamb Island calendar. The sign for the party remains under the house. People would bring odds and sods and sell them as a type of Flea Market.

Peggy Brook was well known, and well loved by all Islanders. She was a wild life carer, and is on record as the first person to chain herself to a tree, to stop bulldozers knocking it down. Because of her solo efforts, she convinced farmers that tree cover was necessary. Specifically because of Peggy Brook there are still trees on the islands today.

The Norfolk Pines were planted by Peggy 65 Years Ago, each one to celebrate the birth of a child. They are visible from Stradbroke Island and the entire bay area.

I have been intending to develop the property as a tourist hotel and camp ground, but need to have Burringbar sold in order to do this. Unfortunately, due to the Bridging Finance and the sale of the Burringbar property falling through, I very regretfully put this property up for sale.
